Flexible Benefits Program

Core and optional programs are available that allow you to design a benefits package to meet your individual needs. Core benefits are provided by the Company at no cost and give you a basic level of protection. Optional benefits allow you to add extra coverage at group rates based on your own personal situation. Once elected, both core and optional benefits are effective on your first day. Flexible benefit options include:

Medical
A core level of coverage is provided; however, you may also choose from other medical options depending on your home location.

Dental
A preferred provider plan is available for you to elect.

Vision
Two vision options, basic and premium, are available for you to elect.

Life Insurance
Core coverage of one times your base pay up to $50,000 is provided to you. Optional coverage of up to $1.25 million is available to purchase, as well as coverage for your spouse and your children.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment
Optional coverage of up to $1.25 million is available for you to purchase to cover yourself or you and your family.

Business Travel Accident
Core coverage of four times your base salary up to $1.5 million is provided to you for when you are traveling on company business.

Long Term Disability
A core level of coverage is provided to you that would replace a portion of your lost income if you become sick or injured and are unable to work for more than six months. A higher level of protection is also available for you to purchase as an optional coverage.

Flexible Spending Accounts
Healthcare accounts are available for you to defer up to $5,000 annually on a before tax basis and reimburse yourself for eligible expenses.

Retirement Benefits

401(k) Plan
A 401(k) savings program is offered that allows you to save a portion of your before-tax and after-tax income for retirement. Dole provides a matching contribution of $1 for every $1 of pre-tax pay that you save, up to 6% for each pay period. You may contribute up to 50% of your before tax income up to the federal limits. You may also contribute 5% of your after-tax income. You can begin contributing anytime after your date of hire and are vested at 100%.

Other Benefits

Time Off
A flexible time off program is provided by all divisions. You begin accruing time to use as of your first day. Each year, you may also elect to sell back time to the Company to help you purchase your flexible benefits.

Paid Holidays
Paid holidays are offered each year.

Short-Term Disability Pay
Short-term disability pay replaces 100% of your base pay when you are sick or disabled for more than 5 consecutive workdays. Benefits begin accruing after your first three months of employment.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
EAP offers confidential help for a wide range of personal and work-related concerns. You are automatically enrolled and immediately eligible for services upon your first day of employment.
